Breakthrough in scaling clinical AI thanks to standard FHIR integration

Pacmed, a leader in AI-based decision support for healthcare, and ChipSoft, the market leader in electronic health records (EHR) in the Netherlands, today announce a strategic partnership. Through this collaboration, Pacmed’s validated AI solutions will become seamlessly available within HiX via the innovative Data Driven Analysis (DDA) module. This standard integration route represents a major step toward broad and responsible deployment of AI in Dutch healthcare.

Seamless integration via the DDA module

ChipSoft’s DDA module enables healthcare institutions to safely, scalably, and efficiently integrate external AI applications into the trusted HiX environment. The integration provides standardized data exchange via FHIR and embeds Pacmed’s medical AI predictions directly into users’ workflows. This means doctors, nurses, and hospital managers can immediately benefit from Pacmed’s predictive models without additional technical connections or complex custom projects.

From customization to standardization

Where previously each hospital required custom work to implement AI systems, this collaboration now offers a standard integration route. As a result, all hospitals using HiX standard content can easily connect to the Pacmed platform without extra burden on the IT department. This accelerates AI rollout and significantly increases scalability potential.

Concrete benefits for healthcare institutions
  • Faster implementations: Hospitals can operationalize AI solutions more quickly.
  • Reduced IT workload: Standardization eases technical capacity demands.
  • Improved care outcomes: Clinicians receive timely and reliable decision support.
  • Access to innovation: Smaller hospitals can now easily benefit from AI.

“Thanks to the standard DDA integration, we can deploy our AI models faster and more securely in clinical practice. This directly contributes to better patient care and more efficient resource use,” said Wouter Kroese, CEO of Pacmed.

Future vision

This collaboration marks the beginning of a scalable blueprint for all HiX hospitals. Pacmed and ChipSoft share the vision that AI decision support can only be responsibly scaled if it is safe, efficient, and clinically embedded. Together, they take an important step toward future-proof, data-driven healthcare.
